Bishop, Dr. Darlingston G. Johnson

Bishop Darlingston G. Johnson, D.Min., D.D., is the Presiding Bishop of Harvest Intercontinental Ministries Unlimited, formerly Bethel World Outreach Ministries International. The global organization has planted more than 350 churches—including 17 in the United States—along with schools and ministries in more than 26 nations across Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. He also serves as Senior Pastor of Harvest Intercontinental Church, formerly Bethel World Outreach Church—City of Hope, in Olney, Maryland, a multicultural congregation of 2,000 members representing more than 50 nations.

A faithful servant of God, Bishop Johnson has devoted his life to fulfilling the Great Commission and developing committed leaders and disciples who live with purpose and passion. He serves in leadership roles with several cutting-edge organizations. He is the Founder and CEO of Frontline Ministerial Alliance and Chairman of the African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network. He is also the Founding Chairman of the African Immigrant Caucus, which mobilizes African immigrants politically, empowers them to take their place at the table of power, and gives them a voice in shaping policies that affect their communities.

A scholar, Bishop Johnson graduated summa cum laude from Oral Roberts University in 1981. He earned a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University in 1984 and received the Outstanding Master of Divinity Student Award. In 1986, he earned a Doctor of Ministry from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. In 2009, he received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, Florida.
Bishop Johnson has authored several books, including The New You: Discovering Your New Life (2021), Grace that Overcomes: Life Transforming Devotions (2016), Light For Your Journey: Essential Building Blocks for a Successful Life (2008), formerly published as ABC Back to Basics: Essential Building Blocks for a Successful Christian Life (2002), Anointed for the Marketplace (2008), This One Thing I Do (2006), Good-bye Worry (2003), and Sexual Purity (1999).
His blog, “A Moment of Grace,” shares insights grounded in the Word of God and his personal experiences, reaching readers in more than 150 nations. His television ministry also airs locally and internationally to a potential audience of millions.

Bishop Johnson has received numerous honors from religious institutions and civil governments, including the Key to the City of Douala, Cameroon; the Key to the City of Monrovia, Liberia; and the Key to the City of Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is married to Pastor Chrys Johnson, M.A., his partner in life and ministry.
